You: Who or what are you?
Corona Virus 2019: I'm SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19, a contagious respiratory illness.
You: Where do you live?
Corona Virus 2019: I'm commonly found in the community and on surfaces such as doorknobs, elevator buttons, tables, mobile phones, and handrails touched by infected individuals.
You: How do you leave one person to infect another?
Corona Virus 2019: Through respiratory droplets and aerosols produced when infected people cough, sneeze, talk, breathe, or sing.
You: How do you spread?
Corona Virus 2019: Primarily through direct contact, contaminated surfaces, droplets, and airborne aerosols.
You: How do you enter a person's body?
Corona Virus 2019: Through the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, and eyes.
You: Who is most at risk from you?
Corona Virus 2019: Everyone is at risk, but particularly vulnerable groups include older adults, individuals with chronic health conditions, and those with weakened immune systems.

Breaking the Chain of Transmission
Now that we understand how COVID-19 spreads, here is how we can effectively stop it:
Practice social distancing whenever possible.
Wear a mask when social distancing isn't feasible or when advised.
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitiser.
Improve ventilation by regularly opening windows.
Cover coughs and sneezes using a tissue or your elbow.
Immediately discard used tissues into a bin.
Clean frequently touched surfaces regularly.
Stay home if feeling unwell.
Get vaccinated and stay up-to-date with recommended boosters.
Recognising Symptoms of COVID-19
Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include:
Fever (37.5°C or higher) or chills
Cough or sore throat
Runny or blocked nose
Fatigue or tiredness
Loss of taste or smell
Loss of appetite
Headache
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea
Muscle or joint pain
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
